There's a reason why this album got so much hype last year, and right now it is currently my homework soundtrack. However, every time I get to this song, I start dancing! I smell the judgement allll up in this library but guess who doesn't care? Yeah. This girl.

Crystal Castles Release New Video
"Haunting fashion" may be the theme of this video for "Suffocation" off Crystal Castles second album. Directed by their beat maker, the video was shot at an abandoned mansion in New York. Personally, I think Alice Glass looks pretty boss. Check out the video here.

Bon Iver Not Performing at the Grammys
"We wanted to play our music, but were told that we couldn't play. We had to do a collaboration with someone else... we're getting nominated for this record that we made... and all of a sudden we were being asked to play music that had nothing to do with that. We kind of said 'fuck you' a little bit and they sort of acted like they wanted us to play, but I don't think they wanted us to play."
Vernon refused to tell Billboard who they were suggested to collaborate with, but he did state that they're "awesome people" and that he would love to play a song with them. However, he continued, saying "But you know what? Fuckin' rock n' roll should not be decided by people that have that job. Rock n' roll should be the fucking people with guitars around their backs."
To be honest, I'm still not sure how I feel about this... all I know is that I certainly hope Vernon doesn't kiss his mother with those lips.
Bon Iver to work with Alicia Keys
While he's already collaborated with some the best (don't even get me started on Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy), Justin Vernon recently told USA Today that he has something exciting in mind: "I have a big idea to do an American songbook of the greatest women singers. There are so many: Casey [Dienel] from White Hinterland, Bonnie Raitt, Alicia," and by Alicia, he means the one an only Alicia Keys. Let's just say stoked is an understatement.
If this news put you in a Bon Iver mood, here's "Holocene."

Let's Bring David Back to Life
Alright, so people keep asking me what the deal is with the band Fucked Up (for my mother's sake, we shall sensor. so rock 'n roll!!!) SPIN named David Comes to Life the best album of 2011 and I can see why- in its entirety, the 78-minute rock opera is insanely cohesive, with each song having its own twist while still overflowing with the gut-wrenching punk that makes this band so electrifying. The album tells the story of David and a woman who fall in love and plan to build a bomb together. However, throughout this four-act tale, David battles with the narrator about the plot, points of view are constantly shifting, and while you're trying to follow this enticing story, you find yourself distracted by the impudent, rowdy melodies that make the album a masterpiece.
Here is the first song I heard off the album and the one that got me hooked. If punk and indie had a baby, it would be this bad boy.

Lana Del Rey drops album in the U.S.
Though it wasn't Ashlee Simpson status, Lana Del Rey's recent performance on SNL definitely wasn't a hit. But you know what they say- all publicity is good publicity! Seriously, errrrrbody is talking about Lana Del Rey, and today she dropped her album Born To Die here in the U.S.
Make sure you check out the video for "Born To Die." It has tigers, LDR rockin' Daisy Dukes, and an extremely attractive inked-up dudester.
